Story
A story filled with tears and laughter of a rebellious teenage daughter and a single mother where the mother’s “bento” bridges the gap in their communication with messages of love.
Kaori has brought up her two daughters almost singlehandedly on the remote Tokyo Island of Hachijojima. the rebellious daughter Futaba and Kaori barely speak a word as Futaba races towards her graduation. Kaori is run ragged working several jobs and in frustration turns to her daughter’s bento lunch boxes as the only way to communicate in this modern-day tale of loss, absence and the search for one’s place in the world.
