Story
From the creator of GANTZ, an ordinary salaryman and a high school boy turned cyborg do battle, as one attempts to save lives as the other takes them away, with extraordinary CG and blistering VFX.
Directed by SATO Shinsuke, Inuyashiki is the story of an ordinary salaryman nearing retirement struggling to makes ends meet. Inuyashiki and his family have moved house but their surroundings fail to make an impression at work or at home. He is ridiculed by his wife, his son is bullied at school, and his daughter can hardly bring herself to look at him. High school student Shishigami (SATOH Takeru) lives with his single mother while his absent father has left home and made a new life elsewhere. Both salaryman and school boy cross paths one night when they’re suddenly struck by an unknown force, gifting their bodies the power of flight and bio-mechanical upgrades that send them off in different directions. The wearisome Inuyashiki discovers the power to give life while Shishigami can only take it and exact revenge. When tragedy strikes he goes on the rampage. Sensing their connection, the salaryman confronts the young boy and the two cyborgs face each other on the ground and at the edge of space. Their climatic showdown is brought to life with innovative visual effects and some extraordinary action sequences. Based on the popular manga by OKU Hiroya, creator of the groundbreaking sci-fi action GANTZ, mixing technology with ethical dilemma, Inuyashiki asks: are human beings inherently good? Or evil?
