Story

Tune in to shamisen duo Ki&Ki as they perform their dynamic sounds in songs that blend the traditional and modern. This performance features three unique original pieces along with a representative folk song of Tsugaru shamisen.

The first piece, "gentenkaiki (returning to the origin)," combines traditional Japanese elements with modern influences.

The second piece, "amaoto (sound of rain)," is a gentle and soothing song perfect for the rainy season, evoking the imagery of early summer showers in Japan.

The third piece, "MOTSUNABE", takes a completely different turn with its upbeat tempo and contemporary arrangement. “Motsunabe” is a Japanese hotpot dish made with beef or pork offal, vegetables, and a flavorful broth.

Finally, the performance concludes with "Tsugarujongarabushi Kyokubiki Kakeai," where you can enjoy ensemble play, solos (kyokubiki), and powerful improvised exchanges (kakeai), showcasing the true essence of Tsugaru shamisen.
