Story
Don't waste it, cook it!
A culinary road movie, tackling the issue of food waste in Japan, searching for sustainable solutions.
The film follows filmmaker and food activist David Gross from Austria as he discovers the fascinating Japanese concept of "Mottainai". Gross travels across Japan driving a mobile kitchen and only cooks with ingredients that others call waste. On his journey, he meets local chefs, farmers, and activists who transform ingredients such as vegetable scraps, wild plants and insects into tasty and sustainable dishes, inspiring him to create recipes for a "Zero Waste Kitchen Revolution".
